My Hobbies
My passions and interests beyond the world of code
Gaming has been part of my life since I was a kid. I've been playing League of Legends for over 10 years now, starting as a casual player and eventually competing semi-professionally for my University of Waterloo team and other amateur organizations.
My competitive peak came in 2023 with some solid achievements: 1st place in East Conference, top 16 in College LoL Championship, and top 12 in the NACL Qualifier (tier 3 tournament of NA). After retiring from competitive LoL that year, I shifted back to playing casually with friends while still loving the strategic depth of the game.
Outside of League, I'm big on FPS games and single-player RPGs. I've put way too many hours into Overwatch, PUBG, Rainbow Six Siege, APEX Legends, and Destiny 2. My competitive drive has chilled out since retiring from competitive LoL, but I still get excited about discovering great new games.
Gaming will always be part of my life - it's one of my favorite ways to unwind, challenge myself, and connect with people. Whether I'm strategizing in a ranked match or exploring a new RPG world, there's always something exciting waiting to be discovered.
I started playing basketball in 5th grade and competed for my class and school from elementary through high school. Playing basketball ignited my competitiveness, and I've been enjoying running on the court and competing ever since.
I've been a fan of LeBron James since around 2011 and have been watching the NBA every year. He's been competing at the highest level for over 22 years and is still delivering great performances at age 40. I'm constantly inspired by his work ethic and longevity.
In recent years, I've been closely following Formula 1. I got a racing setup at home and enjoy playing the official F1 game with it.
Music has a special place in my heart. I first showed interest in piano and violin at age 5, learning piano during elementary school. Since then, I've been listening to music almost every day—it's fair to say I can't live without it. In 2024, I averaged 6.5 hours of listening time on Spotify.
Growing up in China shaped my musical taste toward MandoPop and CantoPop, with my playlist consisting mostly of ballads. Interestingly, despite not speaking Cantonese, 90% of my playlist was once Cantonese songs. In recent years, I've expanded to include K-Pop and American Pop music as well.
